Indestructible Hulk #1

Indestructible Hulk #1
writer- Mark Waid
artist- Leinil Yu

If you've ever wondered why they keep coming out with new Hulk titles, the answer is simply, because they keep getting better. In Indestructible Hulk, Bruce Banner has decided to stop running and become proactive. He's figured out what I've been saying since Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno gave life to the big green guy on TV. Banner is more useful when he's not on the run. He's one of the most brilliant minds in the world and rather than using those brains to evade and avoid the military that hunts him, he could be working for the government and inventing things that would better the lives of millions. He finds S.H.I.E.L.D. Director, Maria Hill, and offers his services as a scientist and a weapon, in exchange for a fully stocked lab.
Writers like Peter David, Jeph Loeb, Greg Pak, and Jeff Parker are all brilliant at bringing the personality of Bruce Banner through the Hulk's rage. Mark Waid brings Banner's personality out through Banner himself and brings the Hulk's rage out through the Hulk. His run on this title is going to be extremely interesting as long as the book continues in the direction he's laid out. For once, we're seeing Bruce Banner as a brilliant scientist who's come to terms with the idea that there is no cure for the Hulk and that's what makes writer, Waid, great... doing something so obvious that it's never been done until now. Obvious, but imaginative and brilliant.
To darken up this brand new Hulk title, Leinil Yu's art is beautiful and expressive. He creates action and emotion with a rough sketchy look that is only complimented by the work of colorist Sunny Gho. These two really work well as a team.. correction, these three really work well as a team. Waid, Yu, and Gho are going to prove to be indestructible themselves.
Indestructible Hulk is a Marvel comic to keep a close eye on. I have a feeling we're going to see more character development in the Hulk and more definition from the character as he interacts with S.H.I.E.L.D and the Avengers in this title and the others in the Marvel Universe.
