Welcome back to Comic Reviews Outside the Cube.
It has been five years since our last review, and I don't need to tell you that a lot has happened in five years. Anyway, in a world where people don't read blogs anymore, here I am typing away. I also have a podcast with my friends where we read all the X-Men comics from #1 forward, called the House of X Book Club. It's putting us back in time but eventually we'll be talking about comics in the modern age. Find the link here and check us out. It's a lot of fun.
So why is CROTCube back? The answer is simple. In a way, it's the same reason the podcast started. I'm reading a bunch of comics and want to talk about them. Of course, I'm reading X-Men and X-adjacent books, but I find myself also re-reading books from my old collection. In looking for old X-Men comics, I've unearthed old Hulk comics or old Avengers comics, or even (and please forgive me) old Werewolf By Night comics. This is a place to get my thoughts down about the books that aren't going into the podcast.
Now if you're interested in those X-Books, I'll probably say a few things and leave a link to the podcast in a short blog.
Another possibility is the return of creator interviews. When I was working non-stop on this blog between 2008 and 2013, I interviewed some really amazing creators.
All in all, it should be fun. So sit back and be patient while we re-build and make Comic Reviews Outside the Cube something better than it's been in a long time.
